Recipes selected and elaborated by our chefs
The recipes in this ebook are selected and prepared by refugee women living in Spain. They are women beneficiaries of URDA Spain who participate in our refugiARTE experiences. They are expert chefs who know the secrets of Middle Eastern cuisine.
Originally from Hama (Syria), Wesal was an analyst by profession and worked in a prestigious laboratory. The war forced her to flee, along with her husband and four children. In Spain, she has used her culinary skills to get ahead. She has participated in the “Gastronomic Festival #Conlosrefugiados”, cooking in well-known restaurants in Madrid.
Born in Morocco, Rachida worked in her country as a stock manager in e-commerce companies. After marrying a Syrian man, Rachida moved to Syria where she began to make a living as a French teacher. The drama of war forced her to flee and she arrived in Spain. She has participated in the gastronomic festival “Chefugee Old World” and other similar events.
